Man sat at his desk looking upset with hands in face
We’ve all been there. Thought we’d be perfect for the position, thinking we nailed the interview but then you didn’t get the job….You’re then left confused with your confidence knocked.

Remember…Always look on the bright side of life

Your confidence can take a hit when you get rejected. At the very least you should feel as you have learnt something through the interview process.

Try not to read too much into your rejectionIf you find yourself trying to work out a logical explanation to why you got rejected, don’t just assume that everything you’re doing is wrong because you didn’t get the job. If you prepared fully and tried your best, there’s not much more you could have done. Keep learning and keep developing, it’s always a god idea to keep your skills sharpened and your experience up to date.

Do you want to make your CV stand out from the crowd? Luckily for you, Just Norfolk Jobs have put together a checklist here to make your CV end up in yes pile.

There is never any harm asking for feedback but if you are not able to get any ask,  yourself questions, so you learn from the experience. What would you have done differently? What did you learn from the interviewing process? How would you have handled yourself differently? By asking yourself these sorts of questions it helps you move forward.

Approach each new job opportunity with a fresh perspective and positive attitude.

We know once you’ve been rejected, it’s very easy to blame yourself and find faults with your CV, and yourself. Don’t beat yourself up just because you have been rejected. Try and focus on your strengths and start fresh… starting with your job search, as it may not be your interview technique that’s letting you down. It could be you’re just applying for the wrong jobs. Rather than applying for every vacancy in your sector, think about whether the job actually matches your background and experience. If the position doesn’t suit your skills, you’re not only wasting the recruiter’s times you’re also wasting yours.

Do you need some tips to beat interview nerves? Thankfully Just Norfolk Jobs have put together a few tips to try out prior to the big day.

You need to understand the fact that you are not alone, many more people are turned down for a job than actually landing them, that’s a simple fact. Just try and maintain a positive mindset throughout the process, improve with every interview, and you will have nothing to worry about.

The best way to deal with rejections is to keep a smile on your face.
