Job Description:

Our client, an impressive global manufacturing company is currently seeking a Senior Supply Chain professional to join their Global Planning Team at their newly acquired facility in Bury St Edmunds. The company design, develop and manufacture high performance products and solutions for the ever growing image capture and content creation market. The Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning Manager (SIOP) ensures product demand forecasts are generated, reviewed, published and refined. The manager co-ordinates communication with Sales, Product Management, Marketing Finance and Supply Planning and other departments to ensure that current accurate information and data are available for forecasts and is responsible for managing the Global Planning Team. Another responsibility will be to develop and maintain the key SIOP business metrics and to work with all sites in order to drive improvement. Driving metrics for SIOP forecasts fill and forecast accuracy. Collaborating with Sales Materials Management and Operations on the divisional goals of inventory, days on hand, excess and obsolete reduction initiatives and customer on time delivery. Developing a cognitive future Strategic and Profit Plan to support divisional growth targets and to drive SIOP output as the financial forecast. Implementing a best in class SIOP process and leading metrics, standardised tools and collaboration across the division. Influence the site senior leadership team to fully engage in the SIOP process, drive adoption of new tools and drive beset practice within Global sites. Primary duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Develop a best in class SIOP process and ensure its operations. Drive continuous improvement to achieve world class forecasting accuracy at the aggregate and SKU level
  • Supports the facilitation of the demand planning meetings, the supply planning process, the financial reconciliation and the final SIOP plan review
  • Work with Sales, Product Managers, Demand Planners in the areas of demand forecasting, capacity planning and setting inventory levels to ensure a realistic and achievable plan
  • Ensures the monthly creation of all elements of the SIOP plan: consensus demand plan, demand for new product launches, validated supply and capacity plan
  • Create a stronger focus on SIOP with emphasis on long-term demand planning within customer services. Support implementation of the front end SIOP processes and adoption of new tools at all sites
  • Align the annual profit planning forecast process with an 18 month rolling SIOP plan
  • Deploy demand forecasting process across business to use as an input to the SIOP process
  • Develop and maintain stocking strategy, procurement parameters at distribution centres, stock portfolio refinements by providing data analysis on sales, inventory and service
  • Establish annual KPI targets, track and publish KPI performances against targets and identify and report on root cause and corrective actions
  • Project management and system development as necessary to support the continuous improvement and data visibility for the planning group
For this role our client is seeking a candidate who has a proven career path within a Supply Chain Management role and who is also able to lead a team and assist the company in sharing and upholding the companys core values. Skills and Attributes:
  • Ideally educated to Degree level within Supply Chain Management, Business or in an engineering subject
  • A CIPS accreditation would also be considered highly desirable along with some experience within a Lean manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience of managing a team
  • ERP (IFS/SAP) and Sales Force Experience
  • The ability to use ones own initiative to address problems and present solutions
  • A professional approach and excellent organisational skills
  • Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to multitask and re-prioritise in an ever changing working environment
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with strong customer service skills
  • Team focussed with the ability to work with high collaboration and performance teams
Initially this role is offered for an interim period of either 6 or 12 months. After this time, consideration to make this role Permanent will be made. Excellent Salary and Benefits are on offer.
