Your new role
I am currently looking for a Assistant to Facilities Manager to join a busy maintenance team based in Ipswich. As the Leader of the Maintenance Team the prime objective is to lead the team in ensuring that both planned & unplanned repairs to plant and facilities occur in a timely and cost effective manner, providing leadership and management support, ensuring the highest standards of customer service and operational performance are met and exceeded. Assist the Line Manager to ensure the region is staffed by fully capable teams, ensuring post holders are competent, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place. It is very important to work with other operational supervisors to ensure the collaborative development of the business and effective team working. Accountable for organising annual cover within team as required, carrying out performance reviews and implementing development plans in line with succession planning. Must act as a point of escalation for in and out of hours issues and incidents across your region. You will be based in Ipswich but additional travel might be needed twice a month to other regions.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills with strong influencing and relationship management skills. Must have experience in supervising multiple sites and multiple staff with at least 5 years supervisory experience. Strong understanding of QHSE competence and compliance. Must have IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH 3 day Award would be desirable.
