Job Description:

Test Analyst / Insurance / Divestment / Ipswich / £400 Our client a leading global Insurance business has a requirement for a Test Analyst with experience in helping 3rd parties/organisations structure their approach to testing and provide guidance to the 3rd parties/organisations. This organisation uses a 3rd party in West Africa and they need help in defining and delivering their Software within the organisation. Responsibilities:
  • Support and develop a 3rd parties approach in refining their internal software release cycle
  • Create the test plan for a software uplift and new functionality enhancements, some developed in-house
  • Create software testing matrix mapping to the project mandate, statement of work and requirements
  • Create functional & non-functional test cases for uplifted and new functionality
  • Execute test cases for uplifted and new functionality
  • Solid experience of testing ESB's, Oracle BI, Data warehouses & extranets
  • Contribute towards drafting the IST test & execution plan, taking defects, lessons learnt and experience of the Software testing into the IST and UAT cycles
  • Manage and run daily triage calls applying the programme defect management principles during the software test and regression phases
  • Apply a risk-based test approach in line with the test strategy
    • Test cases are documented to an appropriate level of detail;
    • Test cases mitigate all significant risks to business continuity for the existing and new functionality
  • Manage the execution of the test plan:
    • Regular communication & interaction with the Infrastructure teams, business teams and project team
    • Managing the business testers to complete their tests
    • Tracking and reporting progress
    • Managing the defects to appropriate resolution
    • Producing metrics to report progress of actuals vs forecast
    • Escalating issues as appropriate
  • Work with test resources across programme to:
    • Share lessons and learnings
    • Provide qualitative and quantitative input into programme reporting
    • Deliver documentation to support project audits and gateway checkpoint reviews
  • Excellent written and spoken English - French speaking an advantage
  • Can communicate well at all levels but specifically with 3rd developers in locale
  • Comfortable to travel throughout West Africa to Company offices
  • Is able to manage other people, specifically 3rd parties & business testers
  • Experienced at functional and non-functional testing in software and infrastructure
  • Experienced in dealing with all types of testing against the context of a changing IT infrastructure;
  • Competent planner - can plan in detail, organise others and track progress against articulated plan
  • Must be a self-starter with confidence to make rapid progress in a busy environment.
