The Senior Bid Manager will report into the Head of UK Bid Management and will have responsibility for team management, work allocation and will be embedded throughout the bid management process. They will be a driving force for quality, consistency and innovation; project managing the bid process across a multitude of sectors. The Senior Bid Manager will take responsibility for coordinating the writing, preparation, presentation and delivery of all associated content. The role will engage with stakeholders from across the wider business to foster best practice and collaboration; ensuring the highest quality of content and timely delivery of compliant, innovative bids. What we need from you:
  • The management and development of a small team of Bid Managers
  • Allocation of work and deadline setting in line with the Servest bid management process
  • Review and sign-off of client tenders and proposals
  • Reviewing tender documents and extracting key information from them
  • Researching potential clients and developing an understanding of their requirements
  • Organising and driving bid kick-off meetings in conjunction with the sales lead and other bid contributors
  • Completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Invitations to Tenders (ITTs) by sourcing and collating the requested information
  • Taking raw text and turning it into a persuasive and informative piece of writing
  • Developing and contributing to bid win themes
  • Creative design and layout of tender and presentation responses
  • Project managing / coordinating the entire bid process from start to finish
What you will bring to us:
  • A seasoned Bid Writer, you will have proven experience of being embedded throughout the bid process, ideally within a Facilities Management soft or hard services setting
  • Attention to detail, exceptional organisation skills and outstanding project management abilities
  • High levels of IT literacy to include MS Word and PowerPoint - Candidates with working knowledge of InDesign are of particular interest
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to command the English language with eloquence and flair
  • An engaging and persuasive bid-writing style
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Proven experience of outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to build prosperous working relationships is essential
  • A robust personality with the ability to multi-task, work at pace, to strict deadlines and to remain calm under pressure
  • Process-orientated and deadline focussed you will have exceptional time management abilities
  • Educated preferably to degree level or equivalent, we are particularly interested in candidates who possess APMP Accreditation
What can we offer you? The salary will depend on experience, and you'll get 33 days' annual leave (including Bank Holidays). You'll be joining a lively team with a passion to succeed and a strong work ethic. Our working week is 9am to 5.30pm Monday - Friday, however we support an agile and flexible working approach and seek to quantify achievement and output. As such, we have a degree of flexibility around working hours to fit both the needs of the business and our successful candidate. It goes without saying that flexibility on the individuals' part to meet the needs of our business will be required. The role can either be based in Bury St Edmunds or Hatfield, however occasional travel will be involved.
