Reporting to the Head of DDC the Information Security Architect will be responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of secure technologies, infrastructure, networks and systems across the DCG estate, such as; LAN, WAN, mobile, cloud, WAF, firewalls, AV, IDPS and application load balancing. They will be responsible for designing, building, testing and implementing security systems across the above areas within DCG's IT network, in conjunction with IT and operational teams. To deliver this, they require a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and up to date knowledge of the latest security standards, systems and authentication protocols, as well as best practice security products.
As a senior member of the Information Security Digital Defence Centre team, the Information Security Architect role will also include cultivating a culture of security awareness by mentoring business and technical teams as an SME and ensuring security policies are adhered to at all times.
•Create security standards/principals for DCG architectural, design and Information Security teams to follow and adhere to.
•Design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems for production, pre-production, UAT and DEV environments.
•Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements.
•Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment.
•Lead analysis of the current Information Security environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
•Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
•Position DCG to meet existing and future security technology demands and provide continuous improvement services to business units and Information Security alike.
Required Skills & Experience:
•Minimum of 10 years of overall IT experience with at least 5 years of progressive, enterprise-level IT security roles.
•Experience of delivering several security architecture design or re-design efforts, including assessing potential implications of re-designing for multiple functions or departments.
•Knowledge of implementing and managing cross-functional risk assessment models, analysis tools, audit methods and processes.
•Ability to describe key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for risk management practices to technical and non-technical audiences.
•Expertise in information security architecture, demonstrating across solutions delivery, principles and emerging technologies.
•Consulting and engineering in the development and design of security best practices and implementation of solid security principles across the organization, to meet business goals along with customer and regulatory requirements.
•Security considerations of cloud computing, including; data breaches, broken authentication, hacking, account hijacking, malicious insiders, third parties, APTs, data loss and DoS attacks.
