Job Title: Carer Engagement Officer

Contract: Part-time

Salary: £14,000 per annum

Car Allowance: £2,000 per annum

Location: Home Based - Suffolk and Surrounding Counties

Contract: Part time 25 hours per week

We are looking for a Carer Engagement Officer to help grow our family of foster carers. You do not need experience of promoting fostering and recruiting foster carers but you do need a passion for helping the lives of children and young people.

The focus of the role is to generate interest in fostering across the local community to help generate enquiries. You will act as an ambassador, helping to promote fostering at small, local events you have planned and organised and through the use of social media. You will be comfortable engaging with the public and existing foster carers, raising awareness of fostering within the community and developing the local Facebook presence.

You will maintain contact with potential foster carers through the journey from enquiry to approval, supporting the screening, training and assessment process undertaken by your social work colleagues. You will work from home, managing the database of potential carers, and keeping colleagues and management updated with relevant information and weekly reports.

Previous customer service, recruitment or marketing experience could help you succeed in the role, however it is essential you can build rapport with members of the public and potential foster carers providing them with insight into the fostering task. You must be proficient in excel database management, social media and diary management, as well as demonstrating excellent spoken and written communication. There is comprehensive induction training and support for this role, and an expectation that you will come into the Lowestoft office at least once a week to build relationships with the team.
