HEAD CHEF - BLACK ROCK GRILL - POTTERS RESORT

Full Time: Wednesday to Sunday - Shifts will entail working between the hours of 12pm/2pm to 11pm.  Please note, although weekend working is involved, time off at weekends can be booked throughout the year.

BLACK ROCK GRILL HEAD CHEF (live-in available) ~ POTTERS RESORT

Launched at Potters Resort in 2010, The Black Rock Grill is a social dining experience like no other; a stylish and contemporary restaurant overlooking the Norfolk Coast offering a three-course dinner featuring a unique ‘Hot Rock’ dining experience.

We are looking for a Head Chef to lead this operation.
We want a bright, enthusiastic, motivated individual with a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude to join our diverse catering operation.  The ideal person for this role must have hands-on kitchen management experience at either Junior Sous, Sous or Head Chef level dependant on size of operation.

Job Requirements:

Key skills and experience:
  • Must have culinary experience and skills, with a minimum of 3 years within a challenging and demanding kitchen environment, alongside an NVQ level 2 / 3 or equivalent catering qualification;
  • Must be commercially astute with the ability to manage departmental budgets i.e. food costs, wage control and forecasting;
  • Must have exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to specific timeframes;
  • Must have an exemplary health and hygiene record;
  • Must be standards driven; driving and maintaining departmental operational standards, ensuring the department runs efficiently and effectively;
 
To manage and motivate the team;
 
  • Must have the ability to manage a small team of support chefs and KP’s;
  • Leading, managing and developing the team, ensuring they have the necessary skills to deliver to the standards required;
  • Is aware of team members strengths and weaknesses, using coaching skills to help them achieve their true potential;
 
About the role:
  • Full time, permanent contract – Hours as required
  • All straight shifts!
  • Shifts will entail working Wednesday to Sunday, between the hours of 12pm/2pm to 11pm.  Please note, although weekend working is involved, time off at weekends can be booked throughout the year.
